Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls to another edition of broadcast excellence. You are listening to the Straight Talk Podcast, and I am your host, former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke. A couple of interesting things we're going to talk about today. That's where I put a lot of the, the juicy stuff, so to speak. Okay. There's, I want to start here. There are some signs that we're beginning to fight back and I've been waiting for the longest time. You've heard me talk about it on this podcast for us to show some fight and to push back on the left as they Try to shred American values, Western culture, our constitution, our way of life, our country. And we're, we're kind of playing patty cake the way we fight. You know, we don't, we don't fight like dogs and, and I've said this before, we're in a dog fight right now. When you're in a dog fight, you better bring a dog. Now I've kind of separated this into two different types of dogs. All right. One is the Beagle. You've heard me say this before. Nice. Cuddly, cute, tails always wagging, lick you to death. And then there's the Rottweiler, right? Fierce, strong, proud, fight to the death. There's nothing wrong with beagles, but when you're in a dog fight or you're going to a dog fight, you better come with a Rottweiler. If you want to have a chance and you got to show some real fight. So two, two stories I want to talk about. One is not a couple of months ago in Louisiana, the governor signed a bill that will require the 10 commandments to be prominently displayed in every public school classroom under this new law. It's supposed to take effect early in 2025. I guess they're giving it time to, for, uh, you know, the, the expected court challenge from the atheists and from the left in general. But anyway, this, we've been here before with these sorts of laws. It was a judge, I think it was Alabama not too long ago that got kicked out, disbarred and because he wouldn't take down 10 commandments from his courtroom. And, you know, even the United States Supreme court has been all over the map on this sort of thing. It's just, things have been challenged before. And in some cases, in most cases, they kind of, it's like a five, four decision against it. Against the display of the Ten Commandments in a public type setting, you know, like a public school or a courtroom or something like that. Even though the, if you've ever been to the United States Supreme Court, and I've been inside, gotten the tour and everything and sat through a couple of cases. They have the Ten Commandments carved into the stone above their heads. The justices, you know, the nine justices. And I think Moses is holding him, the Ten Commandments, and this was the law handed down by Moses. And the court kind of justifies, when I say the court, I'm talking about the Supreme Court, because of the historical context of the Ten Commandments and not the religious context. Well, you know, that's kind of splitting hairs, if you ask me. And then you look at some other aspects of American life. Take a, if you have one nearby, you don't have to do it now. Take out your paper money. Turn it over on the back and on every piece of paper currency in the United States on the back It says"In God We Trust" in God We trust on the 1 bill on the back each bill if you look at a 10 a 20 a 50 a little different but on a 1 bill they have the triangle and It says underneath it,"The Great Seal...", and then it has this eyeball at the top of the triangle, and that supposedly is the all seeing eye of God. So you have God prominently displayed on our currency. And we know we're a Christian nation. We know that's where the founders, uh, or how they developed the constitution. It was through Christian values, so to speak. But they made it real clear in the First Amendment that the government can't sponsor a religion or force people to follow a, or, or, follow a certain religion, or they can't, the government can't establish a national religion. But also there's the free exercise clause. So, I'm really surprised that nobody has challenged this. Maybe they have. You know, on a piece of currency, U. S. currency, it says in God we trust. you know, that's why I said the Supreme Court is kind of, when it's reached that high, they're kind of all over the map. And Louisiana expects this to be challenged, like I said. Who knows what's going to happen? I don't know. I think you're seeing a different side of this current court with some of the landmark decisions they've come out with over the last couple of years. They're starting to display their conservative, let's say, side values. I don't want to say ideology. And so I don't know, this Louisiana thing, who knows how this is going to go. Nobody knows, of course, and I would not be shocked if this current court, and it might be a 5 probably 5 4, That allows the Louisiana law to take place. I just wouldn't be shocked. Let's put it that way. So it says here that the governor quote from the governor, if you want to respect the rule of law, you've got to start with the original law giver, which was Moses Landry, who's the governor said about the new policy, according to the AP. He and other supporters of the policy argue that the state can require public schools to display the Ten Commandments since the text is historically significant in addition to being religiously significant, but of course several"organizations", you know like the atheists and whatnot take issue with this view and they claim that it clearly violates the Constitution's Establishment Clause. So who knows what's gonna happen. I mean, here's one of the court decisions that at the Supreme Court issued in Stone v. Graham, the Court Rule 5 4 that Kentucky lawmakers had violated the Establishment Clause by requiring copies of the Ten Commandments to be hung in public schools. The court noted that the commandments did not confine themselves to arguably secular matters such as murder, stealing, etc. But rather concerned matters such as worship of God and the observance of the Sabbath. For this reason and others, the justices in the majority determined that Ten Commandments displays in classrooms were plainly religious in nature. But you notice that was a 5 4 decision. That means four of the justices thought otherwise. And there's another one in 2005. When the Supreme Court issued a confusing pair of rulings on types of Ten Commandments displays, in Van Orden v. Perry, it said that the Ten Commandments could be on display on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol in recognition of religion's role in American history. But in McCreary County versus ACLU of Kentucky, it blocked the state from displaying the 10 commandments in courthouses and public schools, determining that government officials goal have been to advance a religious message, which violates the establishment clause. So, I don't know, will this be overturned? Who knows, but I would not, let's, I'll say it again. I wouldn't be shocked if, if they reversed themselves on this, this current court. So, there's that and then there's this. Virginia School District says only American flags will fly in classrooms. A breath of fresh air and common sense from the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Rockingham County School Board passed a new policy that makes the American flag the predominant flag in classrooms. The gay pride flag and flags from other nations will no longer be permitted. The school board chair chairman says he wants students to be proud. To be Americans and to honor old glory. Here's a quote from the school board chair. We want the American flag to be the predominant flag seen by all of our students. We want our students to be proud to be Americans and for those same emotions to rise up within them that rise up inside many of us. When they stand to honor our nation's flag, with their shoulders squared, and their right hand covering their heart, giving thanks to God for those brave men and women who have given their lives for our great nation. The school board said that the goal of the policy is to promote patriotism and reduce division among students. Here's another board member who says, quote, It's sad we have to have a flag policy. We live in a generation where there are so many causes, and for every cause you can think of out there, there's a flag attached to it. What a refreshing take on the purpose of public school classroom, and no doubt, Rockingham County will be raising up generations of patriots. The Rockingham County School Board gets an A plus for patriotism and for recognizing At the point of the taxpayer funded education system is not to promote a radical sex agenda. Instead, our classrooms are intended to promote American values and American exceptionalism. I agree wholeheartedly, obviously. The pride flag, without getting into the nuances of, of the gay movement, has no business in a classroom. And I'm happy to see that they just, and this is the way to do it, just no flags. Just the American flag. Just the American flag. All these other ones? Nah. Go somewhere else, but especially that pride flag. All right. I mean, most of the flags, the other flags, but like this guy says, you know, for every cause there's a flag for the most part of flags of a nation. I really representative of the nation, not these causes, but I expect this to be made a big deal of two by the left who shoved this stuff down our throats. And I think it was Obama. Who was the first one that allowed the. Pride flag to be hung below the US flag on government buildings. Trump came along and took that away. Said no more, just the American flag, and there's still some government buildings that do it, but it's not right. And we got to push back. That's my point with these two stories. We have to begin to push back and make it very clear we're not gonna have stuff shoved down our throat that's not representative of us as a nation. And what we stand for and what we're about and our values. All right. Now I want to talk about polling. You've heard me on this podcast say that, you know, don't pay attention to polls. Just don't do it. And the reason I say that is because you have to understand the methodology of polling. And I think that Kamala Harris is polling right now that she's, I think she's ahead in every swing state just about, I saw a poll last week, I think it was put out by Newsweek. Magazine that said she was up by 11 points in Wisconsin. I mean, that is insane. She's not up by 11 points in Wisconsin. Then I saw another story where since she's been coronated, Florida might be in play. Give me a break. Many of these are push polls. You don't know the questions asked. You don't know who they're polling. They can claim, you know, 1100 registered voters. Well, okay. I mean, so what? Doesn't mean they're going to vote. They're not likely voters, the only slanted polls you're going to get are from registered voters. So anyway, there's, you know, there's, I'm hearing a lot of angst and anxiety with Trump supporters about this move by Harris and that she's, she might win this election. Oh, she might, because no matter who they would have come in with, you know, they're still around 47, 48%. Even Biden was that when they said he had no chance of winning, was still at about 48, 47, 48%. So I just want to go through this new poll, just like I said, don't pay attention to the polls, but I want to try to settle people down. You can come in off the, the ledge, the window ledge, okay? Just relax. Don't get caught up in all this stuff. It's designed to dispirit you, ladies and gentlemen. Most of these polls are left leaning polls designed to dispirit you and to give some sort of hope and energy to the left that They might actually win this presidential election. No, they might. Because in politics, you've heard me say it, nothing's for sure. But, let's go inside this poll here that I'm talking about. It's from PJ Media. It's a good site. Conservative site. The title of it is, A new poll shows that Kamala's honeymoon is ending. According to the poll, which surveyed, 1, 001 likely voters, Trump still leads Harris 43 percent to 41 percent nationally with a margin of error of 3. 1%. Now that is a national poll, and as you know, for president, it's state by state, it's not a national poll. But it says a separate online survey teased out the attributes responsible for Trump's lead. And finally, voters still see him as a stronger, more charismatic candidate who is more likely to get things done. Even so, Harris scores better than Biden across the board. And it all suggests that she is shaping up to be a far more formidable opponent than the 81 year old she replaced. James Johnson, co founder of JL Partners, noted that despite a challenging stretch, the polls still contained several positive indicators for Trump. Don't get us wrong, is a quote from the co founder of this, uh, JL Partners. Harris has made big inroads, especially with young voters and blacks, since she has started to close the gap with independents. But Trump holds an advantage with his base. Who remain more energized and has held his position with whites, Hispanics, and voters over the age of 50. Harris biggest support remains relatively limited to 18 to 49 year olds. A lot of this is due to Trump's dominance on the issue of the economy and the border. The race is tighter, but the fundamentals still favor Donald Trump. But at this moment, we're looking at a race made tighter rather than transformed to a Harris shoe, and Johnson continued, all eyes now should be on the independents. If Harris can make progress with them, then we could see Trump's advantage disappear. Harris was catapulted into the race after Biden announced last month that he was giving up his re election campaign. The accusation that Harris is a liberal has found traction with voters who said in our survey it was their number one hesitation in voting for her. So they gotta hammer this San Francisco liberal. It says here, Despite the polls showing that linking Kamala to radical left wing policies has been effective, which is a top concern about her in the survey, she outperforms Biden compared to Trump in several key areas, such as respondents viewing her as strong, competent, and aligned with voters priorities. While Trump still leads in attributes like gets things done and charisma, Harris has strengthened her lead in areas like caring, morale, and stands for me. That's why they're hiding her. She's no good in front of the camera. I mean, at one point, actually for the last three plus years, three and a half years, she was one of the most unpopular Democrats on the planet, Kamala Harris. And then what, in one week now, she's greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm not buying it. It's kind of interesting that white males. Are going to determine this election and they're with Trump. If they come out, if Trump, the Trump campaign can get white males, especially over the age of 50 to come on big numbers, he's going to win this thing in these swing states. It isn't going to be the black vote. It's not going to be suburban moms. It's going to be white males who tend to not come out in higher numbers than suburban women, but this could be different. Like it was in 2016. So it's this here for sure, one poll showing Trump up doesn't tell a whole lot, but if we see more polls showing Trump ahead, and remember, prior to the candidate swap, Kamala was the most unpopular vice president in the history of polling. There's a reason for this, and putting her on top of the ticket doesn't really change much. In terms of her popularity, she's just not, they're trying to make her. That's why I said, don't turn that news off. They're trying to make her popular or appear. The illusion, they're, they're creating an illusion. It's all theater. That's why they're hiding her. But you can only hide for so long from the American people. So that's enough about the polling. Now we're going to talk about one of my favorite whipping posts, the TSA. Another story. This is one of the most inefficient and incompetent. Washington bureaus, Washington agencies, the TSA, this whole thing, this was a bad idea. It comes out of the nine 11 commission report. They overcorrected and screwed up, you know, a transportation wing, so to speak, but all they needed to do was some minor tweaks. Actually what they should have done is what they do in Israel. A profile. They don't go through all this crap that the TSA does. Take everything out of your pockets. Remember, I liken this to a booking room at a jail. When you get up to the TSA checkpoint, take everything out of your pockets, take everything out of your bag, take your shoes off, take your belts off. Those are the orders you're giving, you are given in a booking room of a jail. And that's how they treat us. Searches without probable cause, in violation of the fourth amendment. And we put up with this. Why? Well, how are you going to get to where you're going? If you can't get to the gate, and you can't get to the gate to get on a plane until you go through TSA. But keep in mind, this is like over 20 years now, 22 years, since the start of this, this TSA. With a multi billion dollar budget, doing things that are just not necessary, slowing down the process. And if you recall the 9 11 hijackers, they didn't use water, liquids, they used straight edge razors. Okay, so don't let straight edge razors on, that's no big deal. And then every time they find a gun that's mistakenly left in somebody's carry on bag because they use it in their daily lives and they have a permit to have a concealed weapon and they forget to take it out, they make a big deal about it. Oh, we recovered a gun, we recovered, a guy tried to get out, he didn't try to board an airplane with the damn gun. Forgetfulness. And the hijackers didn't use guns. I'm not suggesting to allow firearms on a flight, but you're working on the wrong thing. So now there's new technology that's supposed to make this thing more Efficient. Quicker. Faster. Less intrusive. We should all be for that. Quicker. Faster. Less intrusive. Right? Well, only the TSA could screw this up. With new technology. Only the government. So to find this story, TSA admits new machines are slowing security to a crawl. And says screening won't improve until The calendar year 2040. Folks, we are in calendar year 2024. It's going to take them 16 years with these new machines to straighten it out. New technology. Only the federal government will this happen. Only in the federal government. So according to this article whenever you're at an airport that has both new Analogic machines and older x ray machines at the security checkpoint get in a line with the older machines It doesn't matter if that line is longer. It will move faster. Can you believe this? Excuse me. Can you believe this? So it says new carry on bag screening machines take longer per passenger item. They're using 3d imaging TSA says it's supposed to speed up screening because even though each item takes longer to screen, fewer items will need to be re screened and manually inspected. Manually inspected, intrusive search of your property without a warrant, without probable cause. So it says it turns out that's not happening. Excuse me. A glitch in the machine software means that it isn't performing as expected and manual interventions are actually higher. So they have new technology and it's requiring them to do more manual inspections instead of less. Yep. That's the TSA. That is your federal government. So it says here, 3d imaging was supposed to be what finally caused TSA to drop the three one one liquid rules. Were you only allowed to bring three ounce liquid items in a 100 millimeter Milliliter freedom baggie. These rules are on the way out in the UK and Europe because of these machines But they're coming back because of the glitches. So you get new technology. Who designed this tech? Who made this technology? And how much did we spend on this? So it says here TA TSA for its part says they want consistent rules So they haven't dropped the liquid ban and don't plan on doing so for many years Even though the software is improved They want to wait until these new machines are rolled out at every checkpoint in every airport in the country and they don't expect to complete that process until 2040. Why are they waiting until this stuff is in at every checkpoint in every airport? Roll it out as you get it. You can work out the kinks that way. Try it at this airport over here. And then you find out, hey, we're having some problems here. Troubleshooting. Working it out, right? Does that make more sense? Than to wait till it's in every airport and then you say to yourself, you know, this isn't working. Well, now what do you do? You've spent billions of dollars on technology that doesn't work. Only to fail. The federal government. So it says, so while we're being inconvenienced, I have different words like harassed by these analogic machines, we don't get the benefit of bringing a bottle of water through the checkpoint. I can't, I still can't believe it. And this day and age 20, almost 25 years after the incident of which water did not play a role, by the way, you still can't bring a bottle of a damn bottle of water through. So you got to wait to go on to the other side where a bottle of water, you know, cost you 7. And yeah, now they have some water fountains where you can fill up your carry on drinking container and whatnot. But I don't know, just the thought of that from a cleanliness standpoint, I wouldn't do. I'd just pay the seven dollars and get a sealed bottle of water and be done with it. I mean, you got these things, your container comes in contact with the, the water fountain. You know, I got germs. How often people clean these drinking things. You just don't know. I just, I don't have a good feel about it, but nonetheless, the federal government gets new technology. I mean, there's nobody in Congress and we don't need hearings on this, but nobody in Congress is interested. You know what? Let's scale this damn thing back. We overcorrected after nine 11, let's bring this thing back into something that makes more sense. Something, my favorite word, reasonable, a risk based process. Don't make an 80 year old woman who's in a wheelchair get up out of the wheelchair so you can inspect the wheelchair. What risk level is she to be bringing some weapon or whatever on an airplane? It's low. You need a risk based model, not a consistent one where we treat everybody the same. No, if you think everybody who boards a plane is a potential terrorist, then nobody is. I mean, think about it. You don't let these people use their heads. Follow the policy. Follow the policy. And I fly enough to, to, to have this experience, to have to go through this experience enough when I, especially when there's a line. And I go through, yeah, I have to pre check, I've done everything that I can do. But I stand there as I'm waiting for my turn and I just watch. I observe what they're doing with other people and I go, Why are they making that old lady get up out of that wheelchair? Or this little kid. Nobody in Washington is interested in streamlining this process and bringing more reasonableness to the table. They're just not. And it's because they're If changes are made and something happens at a checkpoint, you know, they don't want to get blamed for it. So we just continue to do what is stupid. So, the story ends by saying, Perhaps even more troubling is that it takes decades and a billion dollars to deploy these machines. Shouldn't they be several generations beyond these devices, probably from different providers at that point? Well, of course not, because that makes too much sense. Why would the federal government do anything that makes sense? They're more skilled at wasting time, wasting money. Yep, your federal government at work. Thanks for listening.
